Brian and I had a great day fishing with you on Sunday. I have fished all my life in my own boats and on charters and fishing with you was the best charter I have been on. You offer a personal and friendly service and you put us on fish. You impress me the way you go about your job - You seem to enjoy it, you are patient and you make us feel welcome.

I like the fact that fish you catch is clearly labelled. It is embarrassing on some charters coming back home and having the catch thrown on the jetty for people to grab what they think is theirs. I think when you pay good money to go fishing that you are entitled to keep what you catch or give to others if you choose.

I will happily pass on your name to others and we will definitely be back.

Posted on the Ausfish Site from the above customer: Went out on Fish The Deep charters with skipper Matt and decky Pete this morning off the Gold Coast to satisfy my fishing hunger as I can’t seem to do it out of my boat at the moment... By 6am 12 avid, anglers were heading out with high hopes of the day to come... And the boys didn't disappoint by putting us onto some good fish... Plan was to head out and try some grounds holding amberjack and kingfish... So baits when down and Brent who is a regular on fish the deep dropped a jig off the back of the boat... First drop on the jig resulted in a nice kingy or amber I can’t remember... I got a hell of a tangle with the guy beside me and matt suggested I try a jig... First drop on the jig, fish on, then he got off, second drop the jig came off the swivel, sorry Matt), third drop Yee-ha my first legal kingy!!! As was my fourth and my fifth was a larger model!! Well I was ecstatic to say the least... So we drifted back over the grounds this time I score my first legal amberjack... By now I’m having a ball but jigging in 85m of water has got the better of me... Bloody hard work!! By about this stage everyone has at least one kingy or amberjack to speak of so we head off a after some squire/snapper and Pearlies... The guys caught 5 or 6 squire and I got a bloody big morwong that stretched my arms in 85m of water... Next stop Trag Jew spot... A couple of trags came aboard then Brent scored a big mack tuna... I caught 2 trags as did everyone else if not more... Couple of sharks came from this spot, as did a couple more mack tuna... I dropped a nice fish floatlining a live yellowtail guys called it for a tuna so it would have been my first... Oh well that’s what keeps us coming back... Fantastic day on the water with an extremely professional crew... The guys were working there butts off putting us onto fish, landing fish, undoing tangles etc... These guys really know what there doing... Not to mention Susan who made this whole trip an ease by helping me book the trip, picking me up from my motel and dropping me off at the train station... So 3 thumbs up for Matt, Susan and Pete you guys rock!!! I’m already planning my next trip aboard this vessel as is doesn't get any better... My final catch for the day was 4 kingfish, 2 Trag Jew, 1 amberjack, 1 morwong, 1 reef shark and an undersized squire... It may have been you who dropped him off, so please excuse his loudness; he is very deaf from his work, but all in all a good bloke!

We (John, Herman & Chuyen) just want to say thank you for the excellent fishing trip that we had last Saturday Night.  That was by far the best fun we’ve had out of all the charters we’ve been on – including the ones up in Cairns.  Your service was friendly and we particularly like the fact that both Jason and Matt asked us how we wanted to set our rods up, other charters prefer for us to use only bottom bashing rigs as this avoids tangles etc.. – this is GREAT, keep it up.

John is real happy with the Jew!!

Firstly, Matt thanks heaps to you & Jason for a great Sunday. With the exception of the "I want to die now" boys, I know all the others had a great day. I was very sceptical of spending the day out fishing, something I had never done before, but I'd completely reversed my position during day. I will certainly be recommending "Fish the Deep" to all. You can count on it!

I have spoken to our Regional Sales & Marketing Manager today and we would consider doing a quarterly charter with clients. I will be in touch.

Hi Matt and Susan,

Thanks again for a great day on Sunday morning (the Lend Lease booking). I had a ball catching those tuna and was very popular back at home. I made a nice saltwater ice slurry and filleted them that evening immediately before eating – both as sashimi and cooked fillet. I was pleasantly surprised how easy they were to fillet and de-bone.

Matt, you and Jason ran a good show and I am already recommending your charter to others. Thanks too for allowing me to being my two outfits onboard, I really appreciate that. When is a good time of year to come out again and catch something large, maybe a big tuna?

Once again!  A great time!

My Japanese client, Mr Akachi, thoroughly enjoyed himself, as well has his son, daughter in law, and guests.

Gees!  He was ‘tickled pink’ with the tuna!  He is still talking about me pulling it in, even though Jason really caught it!

I have been given orders to catch a big Snapper next time!  But, I am trying to work out how to tell him, that, if I catch a big Snapper – I am keeping the first one I catch - he can have the rest!

I know that Tabitha and I will be back again. I guess, his remark is an indication that he ‘will’ be back for a Snapper too!  (I will work on it anyway!)

Matt & Jason do it well together!   Well done!   And… thanks!

Hi Matt how are you?

Thankyou for your kind hospitality this morning (04/12/05) Andrew and myself had a great time and will be back soon. You may not remember but we managed to hook up the first tuna of the day and you had taken a couple of photos.
